Music has the ability to free your mind from the tension and emotional imbalance caused by adverse conditions, soothe the soul, and resonate with us like nothing else does. With that in mind, a Macedonian family launched Cafe De Anatolia – an independent label that has taken the world by storm in its four years of existence and now resonates throughout the UAE.
What started as a small record label has evolved into a niche music powerhouse with over 15 YouTube channels, millions of subscribers, and collaborations with big brands around the world. Currently, over 350 exclusive artists are part of the Cafe De Anatolia family, producing over 400 digital products including singles, albums, EPs and compilations in just a few years.
Cafe De Anatolia – bringing oriental sounds to new levels
By now you’ve probably stumbled upon at least one of their YouTube channels, especially if you’re a fan of electronica, downtempo, organic house, or oriental deep house – the sounds that guide their musical vision.
Of the 15 YouTube channels they own, eight received the Silver YouTube Creator Award – something none of the co-founders imagined would happen so soon. The brand was founded by Zoran Iliev (alias Billy Esteban), his daughter Monika Ilieva and his son, Nikola Iliev (alias Nickarth). This was the product of a father-daughter cafe reunion, where Monika pitched the proposal to her father. Four years of hard work followed which made Cafe De Anatolia a powerful name.
In his own words, Nickarth describes the philosophy behind the brand: âThe cause of our brand creation is not just about the music we make, but about rituals, united cultures, traditions, food and everything. which is related to the mystical East. We encourage generations to love our Mother Earth and greet each other with respect. “
Although they welcome and represent artists from all over the world, their main focus is the United Arab Emirates, where a large part of their audience and DJs come from. If you were to find yourself at one of Dubai’s festivals, clubs, bars or luxury venues in the desert, chances are the music you hear is from Cafe De Anatolia.
Representing a large number of DJs from the United Arab Emirates, the label is currently negotiating and collaborating with restaurants and venues such as Nozomi to organize events and performances at these venues. Those who cannot watch live DJs can still enjoy their performances online, on Cafe De Anatolia’s YouTube channel. Last year they launched two sets shot in the deserts of Dubai, and words don’t begin to describe the atmosphere.
What awaits CafÃ© De Anatolia in the future?
2021 has been an exceptional year for CafÃ© De Anatolia. Rialians On Earth (resident DJ), along with Billy Esteban, has launched three other secondary labels that will be part of Cafe De Anatolia’s legacy. The first is Buddha Chillout – specializing in meditation music, chillout, and lounge music – which includes the following YouTube channels: Buddha, Buddha Chillout, Chillout Lounge and Ambience. 8D Music is the second label and will focus on 8D audio, a technique that creates the illusion of 360-degree sound moving in circles around your head. And last but not least, Lofi Camel, aka Cafe De Anatolia LOFI, presenting the best lo-fi beats, mixed with oriental and western sounds.
During this period co-founders Nickarth and Monika Ilieva also launched their media and news company – Camelmove – a global media and news company focused on business, lifestyle, entrepreneurship. , technology and music.
