Caribbean heritage is showcased on a London-produced Gospel Heritage album through Jamaican songbird – Chevelle Franklyn.
The “No Foreign God” singer is featured on the album for her single “Testify,” which features a Gospel Reggae, Praise and Worship style that has been performed by the singer around the world.
Franklyn, whose Caribbean style of music is showcased among internationals, commented on her experience working on the album and how the partnership came about.
“My manager got a call from Bishop John Francis of Ruach Ministries in the UK, who is also a son of the ground, telling him about this project and the fact that I should be part of it. He recommended me to the executive producer of the project and that’s how the project was born, the time was right, I had the perfect song for the project and meeting the team @Platoon, London UK, Apple Music label, felt so good.
Franklyn said listeners can expect to “testify” as it will give them hope and new strength to keep believing change will come and create an atmosphere of joy that God will change things.
Platoon’s new project arrives just in time for Gospel Heritage Month in September and features brand new music from Sinach, Tim Godfrey, Bishop John Francis, Becca Folkes, Sarah Teibo, Volney Morgan, Lurine Cato, Juanita Francis, Sharyn and Isaiah Raymond.
Franklyn, who is proud to represent the heritage, said: “The album is a compilation with various ministers from around the world, once you hear ‘Testify’ you’ll know I’m from the islands.”
She went on to say that “Testify expresses faith in God while waiting for the miracle”, and even encourages people to buy the album.
“In this season, people need songs of hope, faith and inspiration and this project (Gospel Heritage) represents that.”
Testimony by Chevelle Franklyn is available on all streaming platforms on September 2, 2022, and Gospel Heritage album is available on all streaming platforms, like Apple Music and Spotify on the same day.
