Cordae releases trailer for “Hi Level” label

After Cordae announced his creation in late April, the new trailer invites creatives to apply to join his up-and-coming label Hi Level.

Cordae established himself in a path of complete control and ownership over his work, gaining an added sense of independence after dropping the YBN moniker from his name. The next logical step on the path seems to be the creation of her own label – the recently announced Hi Level – and a new trailer has arrived to detail the label’s mission statement.

The 23-year-old rapper recently spoke about the dangers of some artists getting stuck in bad recording deals. It seems morally reasonable that his Hi-Level record company would do its best to provide future artists with better and more flexible opportunities with deals that are not as restrictive or exploitative.

In a series of teaser messages over the past month, Cordae has emphasized the label’s mission and indicated his passion for making sure it starts out strong and steadily. The label’s account released a teaser two weeks ago with Atlanta rap icon Young Thug, indicating his potential involvement in the label’s workflow. Nonetheless, Cordae flexing his countless connections in the industry can be very alluring to artists hoping to sign on the label.

It is still unclear what the creation of the label means for Cordae’s musical production in relation to his current contract with Atlantic Records, so it is possible that future releases will go under Hi-Level and be considered the exclusive property of the rapper. .

In the caption for the new trailer, Cordae noted that “Apps are open” and invited users to tag a creation they know in the comments. Unsurprisingly, the comments are riddled with different artists and creatives indicating a strong interest in wanting to work for the new label. In the trailer, Cordae equates Hi Level with a lifestyle more than just a brand or label, describing the label’s ethos of dreaming hard and aiming high to achieve goals.
