Iman Shumpert launches label and talks NBA fights on Vlad TV

NBA star turned hip-hop artist Iman Shumpert launches his A Sinner’s Peace Records label and talks fights with JR Smith on Vlad TV.

Imane Shumpert had a very busy year so far. At the end of last year he walked away with the Mirror Ball trophy after winning Dancing with the stars. In June, he created his new podcast Iman among men alongside his brother Ahrii. A partnership with Lebron James’ UNINTERRUPTED, the podcast covers everything from money and the entertainment industry and mental well-being to parenting and relationships. Then in August, he released his first studio album This car is not stolen with a major contribution from Canadian producer HeySamyr.

This week, the momentum continued as the Chicago native took to social media to announce the official launch of his new label. A Sinner’s Peace Books with a mission to “independently change the narrative of hip-hop”. Captioned “Chaining day,” the video shows Shumpert passing six figures on chains, presenting them to the crew. Although the label was first established in 2020, it now appears to be gaining momentum with the release of Shumpert’s project and the previously announced signing of HeySamyr.

He then headed to VladTV where he weighed in on everything from fist fights with JR Smith, LA Lakers playoff prospects, and Kanye West and cancel culture. In a comedic moment, Shumpert looked puzzled when Vlad said the only way to undo someone was to put them in jail or kill them while talking about Kanye West and the infamous White Lives Matter t-shirt. Shumpert looked around in confusion, uttering the words, “What the fuck?…What’s going on, man?” »

Although he hasn’t officially retired from basketball, Shumpert continues to have one of the most successful transitions into post-basketball life, eschewing the usual path to sports broadcasting, opting instead to build and leverage its own brand in other interests and businesses.

Iman among men is available on all major streaming platforms.
