Meek Mill took to Twitter to express his frustrations with his recording contracts.
But fans don’t have any of the rapper’s complaints, even if they are legitimate. The rapper tweeted on October 25, âI don’t get paid for the music, and I don’t know how much money the labels are making !! I need lawyers, ASAP! Meek Mill is managed by Roc Nation and operates under Maybach Music and Atlantic Records.
“Ask the record company? How much did you spend on me as an artist? Then you ask how much have you made to me as an artist? ” the rapper keep on going in another undeleted tweet. Mill then threatened to disclose the terms of his recording contract. “I’m about to go public with my recording deal by Monday just to let the world see what these people are doing!” adds the rapper. “I am the war for all that is mine, all the ruthless vibrations!”
At least one artist agreed with Meek Mill, although the vast majority of tweets were derogatory.
“I never got a check from any record company, period,” Keyshia Cole wrote under the rapper’s post. âBut I just thought about it the other day. There is nothing wrong with getting audit lawyers so you know where every dollar has gone. Believe me. A lot of things get lost in the sauce.
Tyrese also stepped in to comment on the situation. âMost of us who signed 20 years ago, we should all demand our masters come back to us,â the rapper added to the conversation. “Yes, I said that by December 2022, I will own five of my masters from outings over the years, talk about it or they will continue to collect from your work.”
Meanwhile, fans in the comments couldn’t help but comment when referring to the viral “Dinner with Jay-Z or debate at $ 500,000.” “Someone who had dinner with Jay-Z,” one fan tweeted, linking Meek Mill’s post complaining about not getting paid for his music.
âMeek really chose dinner with Jay-Z keeping his ass hungry. It’s a lesson for everyone,â wrote another. âI just want to point out that Meek has had a lot of dinners with Jay-Z.â Even Tidal, the music streaming company formerly owned by Jay-Z tweeted, âJust take the $ 500,000.â Either way, the complaint and reference to his contract being leaked have been removed.
