Music hall and recording studio at Minehead EYE

Any aspiring musicians or bands who have been looking for a music space to rehearse will be delighted to hear that the Minehead EYE now has a newly renovated rehearsal space.

The venue acts as an ideal rehearsal space for the band with a PA system, mixing desk, speakers, microphones and a range of basic guitar amps, as well as soundproofing and carpeting.

If you’ve been wanting to get an instrument for a while, there are even a number of entry-level guitars, as well as drums and a keyboard.

A number of local bands such as Hi-Jacked and The Fish started at these studios and went on to play the main stage at Watchet Festival and Minehead Bay Festival earlier this year.

Many bands have also recorded their demos and albums there.

Right next to the rehearsal space there is an amazing recording studio.

It’s the perfect recording space and has Mac recording equipment and a mixer.

The room has also been completely redecorated and renovated with soundproofing and carpeting.

The venue also has microphones and cables, along with a basic getting started guide with tips on how to record your band.

Juls Haddow, the welfare social worker at Minehead EYE, helped renovate the new space.

She said: “It really is a great space for budding musicians.

“Music is good for your soul and for your sanity, and these music rooms are in a safe space in our youth service building, with trained youth workers on hand to support and assist you. .”

Bookings for the Music Lounge or Recording Studio can be made through the Minehead EYE website at mineheadeye.co.uk and from just £10 an hour.
