GASTONIA, NC – A producer and music agent from Charlotte brings more creative opportunities to a small town in North Carolina.
Nathaniel Jones, the founder of Legacy Music, sets up a recording studio inside the Eastridge Mall in Gastonia.
Jones has spent his life around music and even did his first internship at Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston’s studio in Atlanta.
He says after DaBaby became popular, people started paying attention to Charlotte and the other talent coming out of town.
âIt got people to really look at the city and start to think, ‘Okay, what’s going to come out of town? So I think that got a lot of artists to say, ‘Hey, now there’s an opportunity for us to be able to get to the top because our eye is on the city. “
Jones said he wanted to bring a recording studio to Gastonia because he knows firsthand the time and money people spend renting studios in cities like Atlanta and Charlotte. Its new space will include three recording studios, a radio station and will also offer courses in musical performance and the music business.
âI know you have a lot of people who are interested in the arts, but if they don’t have the educational component, they don’t really learn the science behind what they’re doing, you’re kind of at the point. dragged.” Jones said.
Jones said the plan is to open the studio in early July.
