Perrie Edwards seems to have started working on solo music.
The Little Mix star shared a viral TikTok video of herself in the recording studio with songwriter Kamille and record producer Fred Again.
The clip, which Perrie posted to her Instagram Stories, was captioned: “Studio with my boo @perrieedwards.”
And when Kamille – who worked on Little Mix’s 2020 hit “Break Up Song” – was asked if she was recording alone, she simply replied, “Solo”.
Now, fans are speculating what direction Perrie will take with her solo tracks.
The 28-year-old pop star – who welcomed her and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s son Axel into the world in August – has previously revealed she’s a big fan of Olivia Rodrigo.
Of the ‘Good 4 U’ singer – who is the poster child for the resurgence of mainstream pop-punk – she said, “Olivia Rodrigo and all the comeback of that sound – it’s up my street. “
Perrie arrives in the recording studio after Little Mix announced they were “taking a break” after 10 years together.
The ‘Sweet Melody’ hitmakers – also made up of Leigh-Anne Pinnock, 30, and Jade Thirlwall, 29 – revealed last month that they would be taking a break after their ‘Confetti’ tour in the spring, but insisted on the fact that their hiatus will not mark a definitive end for the band.
In a statement posted to Twitter, the band said: “We wanted to let you know that after the Confetti tour in April/May next year, we will be taking a break from Little Mix.
“It’s been an amazing 10 years, a wonderful non-stop adventure, and we feel like it’s time to take a break to recharge our batteries and work on other projects.
“We can’t thank you enough for your endless love and support from the beginning. We all love you so much.
“We’re not breaking up – Little Mix is here to stay. We have plans for more music, touring and performing in the future. We’ve made so many amazing memories with all of you, and we can’t wait to create even more.
“We are sisters and we will always have each other and you, the fans, in our lives. Little Mix is forever. See you on tour! Jade, Leigh-Anne and Perrie x (sic)”
The band’s decision to go on hiatus came when fourth member Jesy Nelson, 30, opted out of the ‘Black Magic’ singers – who formed on ‘The X Factor’ in 2011, which they later won – last year after citing a decline in his mental health.
As well as Perrie going monthly, Leigh-Anne welcomed twins with her footballer fiancé, Andre Gray.
