FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Purdue University Fort Wayne has announced that it has formed a full-service music company that also includes a record label.
Three years ago, university and community leaders came together to open the Purdue Fort Wayne Sweetwater Music Center. On Tuesday, university officials unveiled the new Gold Top Music Group, created to provide professional experiences that will allow students to compete in the ever-changing music industry.
“The numbers are out of the ordinary, and we couldn’t be happier,” Chancellor Ron Elsenbaumer said. “In the past three years, 120 students have enrolled in music industry and popular music programs. Almost overnight, we captured the attention and imagination of students drawn to these programs, which are part of our School of Music, as well as these incredible facilities. And now, today, we’re taking another giant leap in announcing and launching Gold Top Music Group. “
John Buteyn is the Director of Gold Top Music Group and has years of experience as a sound engineer, musician, music producer and writer. The group said they have already signed recording contracts with two artists and are preparing to celebrate the release of their first signer’s debut album.
“By providing this unique and professional immersion with guidance from faculty, students gain a range of tangible professional experiences that apply directly to the professional and creative environment associated with music, as well as entertainment and the arts. “said Buteyn. “We are confident that Gold Top Music Group will expose the greater Fort Wayne area to the amount of talent and opportunity available at Purdue Fort Wayne, and serve as a recruiting tool around the world.
At a Monday morning press conference, Buteyn helped introduce the first two Gold Top signers, Bear Case and Man of the Flood, and invited everyone to a launch party on September 2 for the debut album. by Bear Case, “Brain Soup”.
