Raye announced that she would take a social media hiatus after claiming her record company refused to release their debut album.

The 23-year-old singer was scheduled to promote her new single, Call On Me, this month, but will instead take a hiatus from social platforms like Twitter and Instagram.

In a tweet shared on Sunday, Raye said, “I’m supposed to be in Call On Me promo mode but I just don’t have the strength to promote this record yet.

“I leave that for a while and leave my phone behind.”

She added, “Keep streaming and sharing this song for me. I love you. ‘

It comes after Raye, by her full name Rachel Agatha Keen, explained that she “felt so lonely” and alleged that she was waiting for confirmation from her bosses that she was “good enough” to release her debut album. if Call On Me is working fine. on the cards.

Breaking his silence in a series of tweets, Raye said: “I have signed with a major label since 2014… and I have had albums on music albums placed in dust collecting folders, songs that I give away. now to A list artists because I’m still waiting for confirmation that I’m good enough to release an album.

In another post, Raye continued, “So now I’m told if Call On Me works fine I can do my album but there can’t be a green light before…. Imagine the PRESSURE of me waking me up every day frantically looking at the numbers and statistics hoping to be able to make MY FIRST BLOODY ALBUM.

“I know this is the kind of thing I’m supposed to keep behind closed doors, but I have worked, waited, shoved and given ALL I have and if I have to suffer I won’t do it anymore. silence.

‘I have been on a DEAL OF 4 ALBUM since 2014 !!! And were not allowed to release an album. ALL I CARE is music. I’m sick of falling asleep and sick of hurting about it, it’s not such a personal matter for me.

Raye also posted a selfie of herself in tears on the social media platform, claiming that she woke up in tears last week.

A spokesperson for Polydor said: “We were saddened to read Raye’s tweets last night and reached out to his management team to discuss and offer our full support.”

The musician rose to fame in 2016 when she appeared on Jonas Blue’s You Don’t Know Me single and Jax Jones’ By Your Side, the latter peaking at No. 3 on the UK Singles Chart.
