Sony Music Entertainment Middle East (SME) is launching joint venture with MENA region music streaming service Anghami.
According to SME, the new label, Vibe Music Arabia, “will support the community of independent Arab artists” in Saudi Arabia, the GCC and the Levant.
This won’t be the first time Sony has launched a label with a company that owns a music streaming service.
Sony also owns 50% of Liquid State, a joint venture dance label that it launched with Tencent Music Entertainment’s majority parent company, Tencent Holdings, in 2018.
In 2020, Liquid State hired Victor Lee as the new managing director and said it aims to become âthe premier electronic dance labelâ in Asia.
SME adds that the new label Vibe Music Arabia will act as a “creative, accelerator and educational hub for musicians, songwriters, producers and content creators to tell their stories regionally and globally.”

Rami Zeidan will lead Vibe Music Arabia as Managing Director.
He brings over 15 years of experience in cultural marketing, music and entertainment, most recently leading the video and creative division of TikTok MENA.
Vibe Music Arabia will work with Khaleeji producer AbdulAziz Louise whose collaboration with Bader Al Shuaibi and Haneen al Kendari in “Bravo Aleih” has reached over 90 million views across all platforms and over 200 million streams in total.
Young Saudi talent Zena Emad will also join Vibe Music Arabia to work on her next single.
